ADDITIONAL POST CORRECTION:

The concert for the Johnson Church was originally on July 20th not June 20th as stated in my last post. Also, this week the Percussion Ensemble will rehears at 2:00 at the MAPS Museum before the regular Band and String rehearsals at 2:30. Sorry for the mistake in the original Post and thank you Deb for bringing it to my attention. Looking forward to a great week of productive rehearsals.

Hot News April 11th

1). The Concert that was scheduled for Sunday June 20th at the Johnson Church in Norton has been rescheduled for Sunday August 17th at 2:00. Our Monday evening rehearsal on August 18th will be canceled as well. However, our performance at the Western Reserve Masonic Communities on Tuesday evening August 19th is a GOOOOO!!!

2). Our rehearsal at the F.E.C. on Monday this week will follow the same schedule as last week! The six o’clock rehearsals will be in the same rooms with the same instructors.

3). We are making SUPER GREAT progress! Keep up the good work!

  2. Please make a separate book for these selections. I will notify you when it will be necessary to bring this separate book of music to rehearsal. Please begin to familiarize yourself with these selections from the past. We are preparing for two different performances so please keep an eye on these posts for further information. You will only need to bring your music for our 60’s Show with you for the remainder of all rehearsals this month.
  3. Post #2 (coming to you later this evening) will contain information about our Monday F.E.C. rehearsal schedules. These new special groupings for the 6:00 to 7:00 hour is important and will help us all improve our intonation, balance and blend. The 5:00 to 6:00 hour is the same as it has been with Orientation classes and Rythm class at the regular times. Your attendance is extremely needed each week!! We will follow this schedule on Mondays for the next three weeks. The 7:00-8:00 hour each week will be Full Combined rehearsal. 2). Our Strings will be performing on May 6th at 7:00 at Garfield H.S. 435 N. Firestone Blvd. Akron, OH. This performance intitled “Strings Side by Side” is open to the public and features the student ensemble and our members together as one unit. This will be an excellent evening of musical entertainment and example of the importance of music for all ages. It’s free and our support to both the students and our membership is very important. Please join me for this evening of expressive string music.

MARCH 30TH Important Information Post from Jim

Good afternoon, all! The trees, flowers and bushes are blooming! Lynne and I find ourselves filling bird feeders, walking Eddie the Wonder Dog and firing up the barbeque! It must be Spring!

I’m sooooooooooooooooo excited about our Spring and Summer performance schedule! Your winter preparation and extra fundamental practice is showing great improvement in our reading and musical understanding. Thank you for the extra work and practice. It always pays off!!

Here is the April News!

1). We will be shifting our Monday rehearsal schedule into a Springtime Gear. Our 6:00 Winter Sectional groupings by instrumental families will be adjusted into one that is organized by parts. We will use this organization from the 7th through the 21st on Mondays. On Monday the 28th we will be focusing on the Music for our Recital on the 30th. You should have at this point 6 new parts for our summer performances. You will continue to receive a new Opener and 4 more titles for our Summer Show “Music of the 60’s. Every rehearsal… both Mondays and Thursdays are important! They are designed to help you understand and grow musically, The enjoyment comes from growing in understanding as you use the music as an expression of feelings through the telling of its story!

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGE REPORT March 22nd

Good afternoon, Music Lovers! Bev and Cal will be out of town this week. Sectional rehearsals for Woodwinds and Brass will be combined upstairs from 6:00 – 7:00. I will have the pleasure of working with you on swinging and rocking your Show parts. (we call that gettin in the grove). The Strings will join us upstairs at 7:00. Members of the Rhythm Class will meet upstairs at 5:20 to begin working on new pages. There will be no Percussion Sectional at 5:00. Here is the full schedule for the evening.
