IN NEED OF A FLUTE

Joy Hart (trumpet) is wondering if anyone has an old flute they would not mind giving up … cheaply. Her grandson plays the flute and the person that leant him theirs, wants it back. He would still like to play, and Joy is hoping to recruit him for NHB when he turns 18. So think of it as a future investment.

Contact Joy Hart at (330)715-1312 if you have any leads.

TRANSPORTATION NEEDED

Abyemabi Kwalume is one of our valued trombone players. He is concerned about getting to and from our rehearsals at the brewery August 19-22. He lives in the West Akron area. If anyone can help, you can contact him at (330)217-3065 or you can talk to him at rehearsal.

MINDY SEGAL

We received an email from Mindy requesting transportation. We are hoping that someone can help. The following is the email we received:

Hi Members!

I would love to participate more in New Horizons, but now that our rehearsals are primarily at FEC I find it difficult to go there on a regular basis (I am from Canton).

I have double vision at a distance, which is corrected by glasses, but it makes driving at night hazardous. I would need someone to pick me up unless there is a meeting place perhaps 5 minutes away. I would be more than happy to contribute for gas.

Please email me if you are interested. I would like to be involved more in the band, if possible. Thank you.

SOMETHING LOST AND SOMETHING FOUND

My music for Mandalorian was on a stand up front with the super big base drum. Someone must have put it somewhere after rehearsal because by the time everyone left, the stands were put away but there is no sign of my music. Please text me at (330)612-5542 if you know where it is. My email hasn’t been working the last 3 days. Marilyn Katzmark

I found 2 green snake humidifiers for possibly a cello over by the hangers. I will have them with me tomorrow at our gig. You might not even know they are missing yet.

LOST KEYS

Last Thursday a set of keys were found in the church parking lot. They do not appear to be car keys. Although it was announced at Thursday’s rehearsal, no one claimed them. It was also announced in church on Sunday and they were not claimed. It’s possible that a band member lost them before Thursday so I’m sending out this post in case it reaches that person. For that matter, someone who was at the concert 2 weekends ago could have lost them.

VEHICLE FOR NH EQUIPMENT

The good news is…we have found a place to store our extra equipment. I’m sure the board will share more about that later. The bad news is… we do not have a vehicle to transport our equipment to and from performances. This has kept Jim from scheduling performances.

So, is there any member who has access to a van or truck that New Horizons could use? If it is a truck, it would need to have a cover to protect the equipment. If anyone has any ideas, please contact Jim Adkins at (330)858-2045.

Keep your eyes and ears open everyone!

Problem Solved – Ride to Rehearsal – from Canton Area

Currently Mindy Segal from the flute section is between a rock and a hard place. She would love to come back to rehearsals, but a time conflict is preventing her from making it to MAPS which would be early in the day, and a visual problem with driving at night is making it impossible to make it to rehearsals in the evening. She is wondering if someone would be willing to give her a ride to Akron rehearsals on Mondays. She even offered to help with the cost of gas. I forgot to mention she lives in the Canton area.

If you think it’s possible to help, please contact Mindy at mindybeth27@yahoo.com.
