Good morning, I want to share this with you, I came across this on a site called “Trombone Place”. The tempo is seriously fast and impressive, Miss Ella is incredible, I heard when she scats it’s because she forgot the words, true or not, it fits the songs she sings, she is a songstress to the highest magnitude.
Have a wonderful day. Abyemabi
The Suggested Music Events page on the website is a repository of member-suggested music events such as performances, news, and videos. This week we have three more to add:
Thank you to all of the board members and members who had a hand in organizing, setting up, grilling and cleaning up during the picnic. It takes lots of thought and planning to put on a special event like the one we had today! The performances were a delight, food was excellent and I got to meet some new people. Thanks again for a delightful afternoon. I had a blast! — Submitted by Debbie Withnell (Percussion)

The 1st Lawn Chair Concert of 2023 is now available on-line at Member Resources -> Past Rehearsal Recordings.
Unfortunately It Don’t Mean A Thing, Preludio in D and Libertango were not recorded. 😟
A video recording is also available on the NHB FaceBook Page
To fellow band mates, I am looking forward to today’s concert, I consider it a privilege to be able to perform with you, it’s great to see Dave back with us again. Each time we have a concert I have sleepless nights going over the music, where Jim is correcting different parts of the songs like-Do Wa, Dit-Dit-Da, that’s pretty crazy right! But I enjoy working with you all, I appreciate the help that different ones give. I reflect on the commemoration ceremony we did, I will always look on that ceremony differently for the rest of my life.
I love music, it has helped me to be more creative, to share what I feel through music.
I am excited and looking forward to todays performance.
Sincerely, fellow music lover
Abyemabi Kwalume
Connie has posted a graphic to reinforce the scale warmup that Bev introduced at the MAPS rehearsal on June 22, 2023.
These are the minor scales relative to the Major scale. The Natural Minor is based on the 6th degree of each Major scale. The Harmonic and Melodic minors are based on the Natural minor. The pattern is the same for all of the scales.
