Members Fees for New Horizons Band

Our members are required to pay by credit card.   Currently it is $28.00 a month.  You can either select to have it automatically billed or you can manually pay it but it must be with a credit card.  You can also select several options as to monthly, quarterly, etc.   This works incredibly well with rarely any issues.  It is not feasible to record payments for 70 people manually with checks!  There are too many places for mistakes to happen.

If you ever have an issue with your credit payment – you can always contact me – dduke906@gmail.com.   We also use a 3rd party software company that protects your credit card information called Snipe.

HOW TO enter the Members page.

On the Home Page – you will see several tabs – click the one that says  “Members  Only”

Next page click on  “Manage Membership:”

Next page – enter your email and password -IF YOU DO NOT REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD you can click on the Request Password

IF YOU click on Request Password than this box pops up

And a password will be sent to your email.   If you still can’t log in you can email me and I will help you – Diana Duke   dduke906@gmail.com.

Once you entered your email and password you are in Membershipworks!   You will see an option to Renew, Upgrade or Update Billing – click on that and you can enter your credit card information.

It’s that simple!

New Members have a similar process but has some additional steps.   As a new member you can sign up but there is a manual step that an administrator has to do to add you as a new member and then once that is completed,  you can log in and add your credit card information.   So there is 2 steps for new members.

Always glad to help along the way.

Mum Festival Parking and More

Greetings:

Mum Festival – It was brought to my attention that people with larger instruments and people with mobility concerns usually caravan from Barberton High School to the gazebo area where there are reserved spots for us. I’m working on confirming that scenario for this year but just in case we don’t have (limited) reserved parking, my husband will help move instruments and people. I will keep you posted.

Tomorrow, Connie will have Winter Wonderland /Let it Snow for strings. We will be playing this selection with Garfield. Please take a look at it on your own. We will start practicing it next Monday, 9/28.

MONDAY, 9/21

6:00 – 8:00 Full Ensemble – Christmas music

THURSDAY, 10/1

Thursday 9/10 (read everything)

Greetings,

Tonight we are going to take a quick survey about what will work best for us collectively for the Johnson United Methodist Church concert. It seems many people have a conflict on Dec 13. The church would like a Sunday concert, if possible. That would have to be Sunday, Dec 20. Other possible dates are Tuesday December 15 or Thursday Dec 17, but it’s definitely  not their preference. December 6th was also a consideration, but I was concerned about doing 3 concerts in a row since we are already booked on the 4th and 5th. Please think about this and look at your calendar. We can’t give a good concert without most of us available.

5:00-6:00 … Jazz with Leslie

6:00-7:00 … Strings with Cathy, band with Leslie

7:00-8:00 … Full Ensemble  – Semper and Eagle (15 minutes max). The rest of the time will be spent on Christmas music.

Lastly, Elizabeth Schoolcraft (flute) has reached out looking for a ride to the Mum Festival concert. She lives in the Highland Square area. Her phone number is 330-814-6413. Please reach out to her if you are able to help.

Thanks,

Cathy

Thursday, November 19, Tree Festival at John S. Night Center – 3:00 performance.

Friday, December 4, Light the Boulevard in Kenmore. In partnership with Miller South School for the Arts – 6:00-9:00 performance time not yet determined

Wednesday,  Dec. 9, Strings with Garfield, 7:00 performance

Johnson United Methodist Church – TBD, (should know by the end of this week)

All of this is in a shared Google calendar  that was the home page of our website. I’m not sure where it disappeared to. I will try to update our performance schedule on our website. If I’m not successful, it will have to wait until our webmaster returns from vacation.

Today, we will work on Invincible Eagle, Semper Fidelis and Christmas music.

Looking forward to seeing you at 2:30.

Cathy

Thank You (and Monday Info)

Greetings;

Thank you very much for coming out and playing this afternoon in the ever changing weather. I think things worked out just right. I got nice feedback from the audience and the members of the church were very appreciative of our performance.

If you took home the donation drum, please shoot me a text at 330-760-5718. I brought the drum with me and intended to take it back.  Now I have lost track of it which is disconcerting. (Also please bring it with you to FEC tomorrow so it gets put away.)

Monday 8/31

5:00-6:00 … Lessons with Leslie, Clarinet Choir with Jim and Strings with Cathy (books 1 and 3)

6:00-7:00 … Full Ensemble  –  A briel look at Semper, Satin Doll and Voices; then Christmas music.

7:00-8:00 … Sectionals – winds and strings with Cathy downstairs, brass and percussion with Leslie upstairs. We will work on Invincible Eagle and Christmas music

Thanks,

Cathy

Concert is on!

I’ve been watching the weather obsessively all morning. It looks like the rain will clear out of Doylestown by about 12:30. After that, all the green on the radar is considerably North of that area. I think we will have very comfortable weather for our concert. See you in a little while.

Cathy

Concert today 8/30

Good morning. I’m keeping up with the weather forecast and I’m still optimistic for our concert this afternoon. Looking at the radar for Doylestown, I anticipate the rain breaking up right around concert time. My current thought is that we go for it and if necessary we delay a bit if it’s too wet to set up. Bring a book to read or have a podcast queued up and sit in the car until it’s all good. On the bright side, we won’t get beat up from the blazing sun!

I’ll give you an update on my thoughts around 11/11:30. Keep your fingers crossed, because there is no indoor, alternative space for us to play.

Cathy
