Patricia L. Ream, wife of Roger Ream (tuba), passed away unexpectedly December 31, 2021. In talking to Roger it became apparent that Pat was a very competent perseverant woman that paved the way for other women in an all male atmosphere in her department at First Energy. You can’t help but admire the woman. Please pray for Roger and her family during this difficult time. She has been cremated and there will not be any calling hours. Patricia L. Ream died suddenly at home on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born September 21, 1944 at Akron City Hospital. Her parents were Ruth B. and Francis A. McGinness. She was educated in the Akron Public Schools, graduating from Buchtel High School in 1961. She attended Kent State and then worked at Ohio Edison. She worked in the office until transferring to Meter Reading. She later transferred to Sub-station Maintenance, becoming the first female in the department. She retired from First Energy in 2004. Pat married Roger F. Ream in Ellicotville, New York and enjoyed years of skiing in New York State and sailboat racing on Turkeyfoot Lake. She traveled in the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and an excursion to Antarctica. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John McGinness in Arizona, and sister, Gloria Eckhart in Akron. She leaves her husband, Roger Ream; her nephew, Paul Sandels (Lauri); her niece, Glory Cottrell (Tim) and sister, Phyliss Bartling. The family would like to thank the Akron Emergency Medical Service for their rapid and excellent care. Cremation has taken place. There will be no calling hours.
