Roadmap for each Piece

Hopefully this spacing looks better. Below is a road map for each of  the pieces we’re playing on our next two programs. Please make sure your music markings match what I’ve written, so we don’t waste rehearsal time debating and hashing it out.  Notice the changes in the Marches of the Armed Forces. We are reverting back to the original version. I have removed the inserted drum-breaks and removed the Semper Supra.  I apologize for any weird spacing below. When I copied this from Google Docs and pasted it here some things shifted.

QUICK UPDATE

Please bring your Glenn Miller Show  music (everything we played as a full ensemble at the MAPS concert) with you to rehearsal tomorrow and for the foreseeable future. We will be using parts of that show’s music in various ways throughout the summer/fall. More practice won’t hurt us and I really need to practice conditioning those pieces!!!

Also, the August 13th concert at Western Reserve Masonic Community will be at  7:00 p.m.  It will be in lieu of that day’s rehearsal.

Thanks,
Cathy

Tonight and Beyond

Congratulations on a successful Glenn Miller show.

We are ready to move toward our next concerts.

We WILL have rehearsal tonight. I hope you can make it, but if you’re too pooped to play, hopefully you can make it on Thursday.

Things you should know:

Leslie is starting a jazz band class. It will meet from 5:00-6:00 on the Thursdays we meet at FEC. This class is for anyone interested in learning about and playing jazz music. Please let us know at one of this week’s rehearsals if you plan to participate, so we have music for you.

The very next concert is STRINGS ONLY at Garfield on May 7.

The next concert for EVERYONE is the Memorial Day program at Western Reserve Masonic Community. Performance time is 1:00. Call will be 12:15. The music we will play is:

Knights of Destiny

With Valor and Honor

Star Spangled Banner

God Bless the USA

God Bless America

Thunderer

Please bring this music with you to rehearsal. If you don’t have it, Connie will have some copies.

Following Memorial Day we have the Kenmore Street Festival on June 6th. I will post that music list shortly. We will utilize much of the music we played at MAPS and will hopefully add one or two new selections.

We will be discussing the July 2 program at the next couple of rehearsals. This will be a smaller group of musicians who will play in a pit, for a program celebrating America 250 at Norton HS.

If you have any questions or concerns, please ask.

Looking forward to a great rest of the 2026 season.

Cathy
